Installing drywall

Green E-Board™ can be easily installed as a finished wall panel by using the smooth side as a finished wall.

We recommend that you use a good primer as a base coat since it is has an alkaline base and may react to some specialized paints.

  • Screws: Corrosion-resistant bugle head drywall screws or backerboard screws appropriate for the application
  • Vapor Barrier when using Green E-Board™ in a wet location
  • 2” glass fiber mesh tape for seams
  • Standard or Latex Modified Thinset
  • If applying Green E-Board™ as the finished wall surface, standard or ecologically friendly drywall finishing materials may be used on the joints

  • Hold the larger piece firmly and put light pressure on the smaller piece until it breaks
  • For best results, score the back side before snapping the two pieces apart
INSTALL

  • Use a vapor barrier for wet applications
  • When using Green E-Board™ as an underlayment use a dry-set or latex-cement mortar to bond Green E-Board™ to sub floor.
  • Fasteners should be spaced 6” o.c. for walls and ceilings for both wood and metal framing. Drive fasteners flush with surface.
  • Under tile and stone use a 2” 10x10 glass fiber mesh tape embedded in a skim coat of a polymer modified thinset. Caulk or seal joints.
